Alec Baldwin is preparing to reappear on camera following the death of Halyna Hutchins, the cinematographer who was shot on the set of his film Rust.
The 63-year-old actor will arrive in Rome over the weekend to start filming on two Italian films, Kid Santa and Billie’s Magic World, according to Variety.
The films, which are being produced by Alec and his brother Daniel Baldwin, who also stars in both films, will soon begin filming in Rome.
Gianluca Curti, the boss of Italy’s Minerva Pictures, told Variety Alec he will arrive in Rome on Saturday. His brother is already in the historical city.

Kid Santa and Billie’s Magic World both come from Italian director Francesco Cinquemani, who previously worked with Alec on the 2015 film Andron. He also directed the 2021 film The Christmas Witch, which starred Alec’s brother William Baldwin.
The two films will be billed as “live-action/animated family Christmas comedies,” according to Variety.
Cuti told the site that the Baldwin brothers will be in Rome for four weeks to film the live-action scenes of the two films.
Curti also said that Alec’s participation in the two films preceded the fatal shooting on Rust’s set.

Meanwhile, Deadline reports that the brother who works with Alec isn’t Daniel, it’s William. According to the site, the brothers will be both live-action actors and voice actors.
Alec has been dealing with an ongoing wrongful death lawsuit over the on-set death of Hutchins.
The 42-year-old cinematographer died on October 21 last year when Alec fired a prop gun used in the film Rust after being told it wasn’t loaded and shot her in the chest.
Director Joel Souza was also injured by Baldwin’s prop gun, although he survived his injuries.
Earlier this month, attorneys for the film’s gunsmith, Hannah Gutierrez, released a statement condemning the actor for pointing his firearm at crew members, despite it being a violation of safety protocol.

‘Mister. Baldwin knew under no circumstances could he point a firearm at crew members and had a duty of safety to his fellow crew members,” attorney Jason Bowles said in a statement from ABC. “Nonetheless, before the fatal incident, he defied all rules and common sense to point the gun at Halyna.”
Bowles added that the monitor on set was broken on the day of the fatal shooting, which “further prevented Hannah from learning what was going on at the church,” ABC reported.
The statement was in response to new documents in the wrongful death lawsuit filed against Baldwin and the production by the Hutchins family.
Baldwin appeared to blame the victim in an arbitration claim, claiming his contract protects him from any financial responsibility related to Hutchin’s death.

Despite the tragedy, Baldwin had tried to persuade the cast and crew to complete filming of Rust in Hutchins’ Honor in the weeks following filming and use the proceeds from the film to settle with the woman’s husband, Matthew Hutchins, and the nine-year-old son, according to the file.
The filing also revealed that Baldwin and Matthew exchanged text messages.
Hutchins’ attorney Brian Panish hit back at the actor: “Alec Baldwin is once again trying to avoid liability and accountability for his reckless actions before and on October 21 that resulted in the death of Halyna Hutchins,” Panish told Deadline.
“Baldwin’s disclosure of personal texts with Matt Hutchins is irrelevant to his request for arbitration and demonstrates nothing other than Hutchins’ dignity in his relationship with Baldwin.
“It is shameful that Baldwin would claim that Hutchins’ actions in filing a wrongful death lawsuit derailed the completion of Rust,” added Panish. “The only action that ended production on the film was Baldwin’s assassination of Halyna Hutchins.”
The Emmy winner also claimed that he followed Halyna Hutchins’ instructions as he pointed Rust at her on the set of the film Rust, which turned out to be a gun loaded with live ammunition, and pulled the trigger, killing the cameraman.

In an interview with George Stephanopoulos for ABC, the actor claimed the gun was fired while he was practicing his block for the scene, and Hutchins instructed him to aim the gun at the camera’s side, toward them.
“And I cock the gun, I say, ‘Can you see that? Can you see that? Can you see that?’ And she says… and then I let go of the gun’s hammer and the gun goes off. I release the hammer of the gun, the gun goes off,’ he said.
The shooting is currently under investigation, and a search warrant was issued in late December for Baldwin’s cell phone, which he had spoken to shortly after the shooting.
The search warrant gives the police permission to search any text messages and photos he may have along with the stored location data.
His recent court filings doubled down on his claim that while the death was tragic, he was not responsible.
“This is a rare instance of the system collapsing and someone should be held legally responsible for the tragic consequences. That person is not Alec Baldwin,” the filing reads. “October 21st was also the worst day of Alec Baldwin’s life. That day has and will continue to haunt Baldwin.’
Friday’s filing repeatedly argued that the actor was not responsible for the cameraman’s death because he had been assured that the gun he used in the scene did not contain live bullets, and also because he was not responsible for the Checking the ammunition was responsible, as the New York Times first reported.
“An actor cannot decide whether a gun is safe,” the filing said. “Other people on the set are responsible for that.”
According to the document, Hutchins instructed Baldwin on how to hold the gun.
“She instructed Baldwin to hold the gun higher to the point where it was pointed at her,” the filing reads. “She looked intently at the monitor and then at Baldwin and then back again as she gave those instructions. In issuing and following these instructions, Hutchins and Baldwin shared a central, fundamental belief: that the gun was “cold” and contained no live cartridges.
Baldwin then asked Hutchins if she wanted him to pull the hammer back on the Colt, and she reportedly said yes.
The actor drew back the hammer, “but not far enough to actually cock the gun,” the filing says. When Baldwin released the hammer, the gun discharged.
