A fan finds the Emmerdale script for the main story in a trash can

The top secret Emmerdale script for the main story is found in a rubbish bin by a fan while touring the Yorkshire set

An Emmerdale fan found a top-secret script while touring the famous Yorkshire Dales set.

The confidential documents, which revealed storylines for upcoming episodes, were found in a rubbish bin and ITV vowed to “get to the bottom of it”.

Fans who visited the set, which costs £35 to enter, were informed at the start of the tour last month that the bins could be used as normal and were not props.

However, when an Emmerdale fan went to dispose of a water bottle, he discovered the scripts and managed to “take a picture of it.”

They told The Sun on Sunday: “I threw a bottle in the bin and the script was just there.” It was a regular black on-set bin, behind which were the props for Chloe Harris’ house.

“I just put a plastic bottle in it and all of a sudden I saw the scripts and took a picture of it.

“The idea of such a famous production having the scripts just lying around is really shocking, especially when in the wrong hands they could be used for other, more sinister purposes.”

The script has been classified as “confidential” and revealed storyline developments involving entrepreneur Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson) and father Rishi (Bhasker Patel), according to the fan.

Earlier this month, ITV viewers learned that Jai was adopted, which he’s had a hard time coming to terms with ever since.

Other documents found on the set at the Harewood Estate, near Leeds, included a site plan of the Emmerdale Village buildings with arrows indicating the locations of cameras and floor managers.

The publication has agreed with ITV not to share any spoilers found about the storylines.

ITV said: “We take safety very seriously as we know our audiences don’t like to know storylines in advance.”

“We will try to determine the cause of the disappearance of these scripts.”
