A tenth child for Philip Rivers

Former NFL quarterback Philip Rivers and his wife are expecting their tenth child.

The 41-year-old announced this week that the couple is expecting a boy.

“We’re all very excited,” he told AL.com. Everyone wanted a boy. Even our daughters wanted a boy.”

Rivers also stated that his mother and father came from families with nine children and that he thought the same would apply to his own clan.

“God decided otherwise,” he said.

Rivers’ first nine children are currently between the ages of four and 21.

The Pivot played 16 seasons with the San Diego/Los Angeles Chargers and one season with the Indianapolis Colts. He retired at the end of the 2020 season and is now the head coach of a Catholic high school team in Alabama.
