Accused of kidnapping the father of a popular influencer

Two men have been charged and jailed as part of an investigation into the kidnapping of an influencer’s father last week in western France, the Le Mans prosecutor’s office said on Wednesday.

On Thursday morning, August 24, in the village of Cures, “a person claiming to be an Amazon delivery man rang the doorbell. The resident, who was alone in the house, was immediately forcibly taken into the vehicle by several people,” the public prosecutor’s office said in a statement.

The kidnapped man’s son received “a video of his father tied up, his mouth taped shut, an automatic weapon pointed at his head” at his vacation spot. According to the same source, a ransom note has been sent to this “well-known influencer who has allegedly made a fortune.”

According to several media outlets, the influencer is Killian Desnos, says TeufeurS on social networks. The 30-year-old made his fortune through online gambling on Twitch and YouTube.

The Le Mans Public Prosecutor’s Office seized the research brigade of the Gendarmerie of Le Mans and the research department of Angers “for the facts of kidnapping, confiscation in an organized gang”, with the support of the GIGN.

“Despite investigators’ recommendations, the son paid the requested ransom” to release his father, prosecutors said.

On Friday, the victim was released in Sarthe and picked up by motorists who alerted the gendarmerie. “He had not suffered any violence or abuse,” the lawsuit says.

After the fake Amazon delivery person was identified, a second person, also known for armed robberies and criminal organizations, was also arrested.

At the end of the police custody, the two defendants were brought before an examining magistrate after the public prosecutor opened a judicial investigation, in particular into extortion of an organized gang with a weapon, arrest, kidnapping and arbitrary detention of hostages of an organized gang.

The two alleged perpetrators were charged on Tuesday in accordance with the public prosecutor’s orders and taken into custody. You face life imprisonment.

“I feel guilty even though I know deep down I have no responsibility, but it’s difficult. My family is fine, we will take a break with my entire team to recover from the situation,” TeufeurS wrote on X (formerly Twitter), which has more than 400,000 subscribers.
