Already in the afternoon thousands of people gathered near the sacrificial cross, hoping to find a place of their choice on the plain of Abraham.

The dissatisfaction made itself felt a few hours later when the crowd grew to gigantic proportions and the line stretched several hundred meters.

Hip-hop fans, who preferred to wait with a beer in hand, also bustled about on the terraces of the Grande Allée. It has to be said that Pitbull – whose real name is Armando Christian Pérez – is a real success machine that has been on the road internationally for two decades.

“Everyone knows his songs. He’s a generational artist, he has a crazy vibe,” says Sarah-Maude Fournier, who has her favorite Mr Worldwide songs like “Fireball” painted on her body.

The blazing sun and the temperature of what felt like 32 degrees on the hottest evening were welcomed with open arms by the festival visitors. Many crossed their fingers after seeing the weather as a spoilsport over the past few days.

“It’s going to be a Caliente evening [chaude]We couldn’t miss that!” exclaims Laurie-Anne Leclerc, referring to the temperature, but also to the festive attire of several of the rapper’s fans.

Like clones, Ms Leclerc and her band have instead opted to disguise the world-famous singer with his bald head, sunglasses and goatee.

As with the previous week’s Imagine Dragons show, the Festival d’été de Québec (FEQ) was forced to close access to the Plains of Abraham at around 8:45 p.m. due to the large crowd at the site.
