Google Play Games for PC was first announced in 2021 during the Games Trophy of the same year and continues to be successful. The application developed by the Mountain View company, which allows users to access Android games from Windows, is once again expanded to other countries where the emulator was previously unavailable.

While the app was only functional in 13 countries when it launched in 2022, it managed to increase that number to 60 a year later. It has now passed the 100 mark thanks to the addition of new countries such as India, Argentina and South Africa.

A beta version playable in 120 countries

This Friday, Google therefore announced that it now also allows players in other countries to benefit from its emulator. This brings the total number of countries where Google Play Games is now available to 120. India is particularly fortunate to be among the newcomers as the company has announced that the service will be available in English and Hindi for citizens of that country.

As a reminder, the variant of Google Play Games for PC used from the start is the beta version. The final version is not yet available. But no matter, the beta variant seems to bring joy to the players for the time being. Therefore, in order to benefit from it, users must ensure that they are located in an eligible country. They then need to ensure that they have a PC compatible with the service and a Windows administrator account with hardware virtualization enabled to play the games.

Regarding the compatibility of PCs with Google Play Games, the Mountain View company has indicated the minimum configurations necessary to run the application. Therefore, you must already have a PC running Windows 10. The device must also have at least 4 physical CPU cores, 10 GB of free memory on an SSD drive, an Intel UHD Graphics GPU 630 or compatible and 8 GB of RAM. However, these hardware and software requirements may change in the final release.

Google is constantly working to improve its service

The service has been available in Europe since May 2023. Thanks to the emulator, French users will thus be able to play mobile games of the likes of Eversoul, Lords Mobile or even Evony: The King’s Return. With the expansion of the service to India, new games such as Ludo King and Hitwicket Games were added to the list. As a result, Google can now offer more than 100 games through its program.

Google Play Games for PC also allows users to sync their game to devices other than their smartphones and tablets. You can therefore continue your games at any time on a Chromebook or any PC. To make the gaming experience even better, Google is currently working on a feature that will allow keyboard controls for some Android games on ChromeOS.

The American company also launched an emulator last March that allows game developers to debug games quickly, as well as an integration with Android Studio so developers can customize and deploy their games.
