Kyle Richards reached a special milestone by being sober for a year, which she proudly revealed on Instagram on Saturday.
The 54-year-old The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills star, who made a cheeky comment on Mauricio Umansky’s latest post amid their split, also shared a beaming selfie with her 4.2million followers.
The TV personality wore a black sleeveless top while a straw hat partially covered her long tresses, which naturally fell past her shoulders.
In the caption, the mother-of-four excitedly wrote, “Today marks a year without alcohol for me.” “A number of things made me decide that I didn’t want to drink.”
She continued, “First and foremost, I didn’t feel like there was a place I wanted to be personally. I listened to my heart and the message was clear to me.”

Kyle continued, “I knew it was no longer serving me physically, mentally or spiritually (no pun intended). I never set a time frame for when I would drink again, or said if I ever would.’
She then gave her fans an update on how she was feeling after giving up alcohol for a full year. “All I know is that I’ve never felt better physically and have been clearer mentally.”
“I’ve learned that I still share too much, but at least I don’t have the ‘afraid’ to think about it,” Richards added humorously. “I’ve learned that sometimes I still do stupid things and beat myself up about it.”
“I’ve learned that I still enjoy it and, last but not least, I’ve learned that it’s a lot easier than I thought it would be.” It certainly met with resistance from some. But I’ve never been one to fall victim to peer pressure. No matter how old I am.’
The reality star added, “Mostly people are supporting me, even if they didn’t quite get it, as I don’t have a ‘problem’ with alcohol. Although you can often believe me it didn’t feel that way.’
After further deliberation, Kyle opened up about her decision to remove alcohol from her life. “Alcohol made me depressed the next day, no matter how fun the night before was.” And honestly, life is going to throw us some rough days.”

Alongside her sobriety journey, the TV personality has also been on a fitness journey. The star has sparked speculation that she has been taking weight-loss drug, Ozempic, which she has firmly denied on various occasions.
In May, Kyle addressed speculation in an interview with Page Six, stating, “I can say I’ve never tried it and I’ve never taken it.”
She continued, “I don’t take any weight loss medication.” If you know me, you know I have terrible fears that would scare the shit out of me. I have never taken it.’
