Silvio Santos' daughter thanks for not suing SBT

Daniela Beyruti, daughter number three of Silvio Santos and vice president of SBT, thanked Globo for not suing the broadcaster for repeating the 2001 parade of the Tradição samba school in honor of the communicator and businessman.

The recording of the program made by the audience guide at the time was shown again with a normal display of the logo and the sponsors at the time (with the source “Internet images”). The exhibition was created without any image permission from the Marinho family channel.

It is worth noting that the replay would have taken place on the orders of Silvio himself, who called SBT out of the blue and demanded the screening of the entire parade without further justification.

The businesswoman thanked her on her Instagram profile this Monday (February 19th). Daniela addressed the message to Amauri Soares, director of Estúdios Globo. “You know our beloved character. I thought it was super cool that they accepted it.” Sports. “It was a beautiful tribute that will never fade from our memories.” “SBT and I thank you,” she wrote.

According to information in column F5 of the newspaper Folha de S. Paulo, some global directors spoke about the matter to discuss a situation or a legal notice. However, they did not take any action in this regard, despite believing that it was indeed a usurpation of the images.

Due to the good relationship that the two channels have maintained in recent years, Globo decided to treat the episode as a tribute to Silvio Santos. However, the show only achieved 2 average audience points in the greater São Paulo area and was on par with Band. Normally the station usually achieves 3 points in the band.

Last Saturday evening (February 17), the broadcast of SBT Brasil ended early to make room for the parade that the samba school held in 2001, with a tribute to the presenter. Marquês de Sapucaí from Rio de Janeiro brought back small screen characters who are no longer with us, such as Gugu Liberato (19592019) and Hebe Camargo (19292012). The event was narrated by Cleber Machado and Glória Maria (19492023).
