The damage is significant, even the town hall was flooded.

The rain caused extensive damage in several basements and 24 hours later left thick mud on the steps, shelves, objects and walls of many homes.

The water seeped in quickly. In total, about thirty houses and buildings were damaged.

TVA Nouvelles noted that some foundations were even damaged as 84mm of rain fell in an hour and a half on Thursday evening.

The river suddenly swelled and the main sewers and storm sewers filled up, unable to keep up with the flow.

As a result, a large amount of water flowed onto the street and into the cellars.

In the morning we were busy cleaning the basement of the town hall. For the mayor, the workload is twice as high because his house is one of the affected houses.

Civil protection companies are being inundated with requests for help, pushing back the start of work at City Hall until Monday to demolish the damaged walls.

Unusual fact: Even the Promutuel insurance company based on the main road was affected and had to call a civil protection company.
