At a press conference in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, on Friday, September 16, Vladimir Putin threatened the Ukrainian camp, saying: “If the situation develops like this, the reaction will be more serious.”
Vladimir Putin swept away Ukraine’s counteroffensive this Friday, September 16, with a smile on his face and warned that Russia would respond with more violence if additional pressure was placed on its troops. At the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, Vladimir Putin touted the invasion as a necessary step to prevent what he called a “Western conspiracy” to disrupt Russia.
“We’re in no hurry”
The Russian President reiterated that Russia was in no hurry to complete its campaign in Ukraine, assuring that the strategy of the Russian armed forces had not changed and that they would continue to seize territories. “Our offensive operations in Donbass are not stopping, they are progressing slowly (…). The plan (of operations, ed.) does not require any change (…) we are in no hurry,” he said during a press conference from Samarkand in Uzbekistan.
“Recently, Russian forces have dealt some painful blows. Let’s assume this is a warning. If the situation develops like this, the reaction will be more severe,” he said. A second time it was assured that Russia is gradually taking control of new regions of Ukraine.
