One sword of about 3000 years old was found by archaeologists in an old cemetery in the town of Nördlingen, according to information from the newspaper O Globo. The weapon is in perfect condition, even details of the structure, such as the shine of the blade, have been preserved.
The relic was found in a grave last week bones of three people. Among them a man, a woman and a teenager. Experts still don’t know where the piece was made.
Details of the zigzag pattern drawn into the sword’s hilt are still clearly visible on the weapon, interrupted by rivets and rivets. Even if the details are well preserved, experts believe that this is a real weapon that was designed for it precise cuts.
At that time there were only a few places in Europe where this type of sword was traded, including southern and northern Germany and Denmark.
exceptional condition
“The sword and the burial still need to be examined so that our archaeologists can further classify this find. But you can already say that the preservation is exceptional! A find like this is really rare,” said Mathias Pfeil, head of the Bavarian State Office for the Preservation of Monuments.
