Bernie Sanders has been branded a hypocrite for charging up to $95 tickets to an event promoting his new book on capitalism.
The senator, 81, is preparing his latest book It’s Okay To Be Angry About Capitalism on February 21, which will retail for $28.
Like many authors, the Democratic Socialist is hosting an event with tickets ranging from $35 to $95 in Washington DC on March 1 following its publication in Anthem. Tickets starting at $55 come with a copy of the book.
His critics accuse the Vermont leader of charging any amount of money for the event about capitalism in addition to selling the tickets on Ticketmaster, despite congressional criticism of the monopoly last week.
“He’s a walking advertisement for why the Left is full of crap. This is ridiculous,” Fox News’ Dana Perino told The Five.

Sanders’ book hits shelves on February 21 and tickets to his event go on sale to the general public on February 3
Co-host Jeanine Pirro called the move “hypocrisy,” which made his fans “work all day to pay for him to give his speech.”
“Why would you bother paying the $95?” she asked. “You can watch them all day for free on C-Span.”
Greg Gutfeld has also criticized the senator for impeaching anything as Sanders promotes socialism.
“The ticket should be free or at least force the audience to pay for the other half’s tickets,” he quipped on the show. “Or maybe more like 20 percent should pay for the remaining 80 percent, so the prices are about $500 per person and everyone else is free.” Then the people who paid the $500 have to stand next to the eight people who didn’t pay at all.
“But the most shameful thing about it is that he works with Ticketmaster. The year is 2023. Ticketmaster? What is that?’ he said.
On Fox News’ The Five, Sanders received harsh criticism, including a host who suggested that tickets should be free or that 20 percent of the audience should pay a hefty fee so 80 percent can attend for free, as the senator promotes socialism

Several others took to Twitter to call out the Vermont diplomat about selling his event tickets on Ticketmaster, despite criticism from Congress last week of the monopoly
Sanders wasn’t just getting hot from Fox News. Colleagues and Twitter users also took the opportunity to challenge the senator.
Michigan State Rep. Bill Huizenga tweeted, “Does anyone else see the ‘irony’ in Bernie Sanders selling tickets to his It’s Okay to Be Angry About Capitalism book tour on Ticketmaster?”
Reverend Alan P. wrote: “@BernieSanders hates capitalism but sells tickets to his book tour on Ticketmaster. Why doesn’t he do his book tour for free? You know how he wants to set others free.’
Another Twitter user wrote: “Bernie Sanders is selling tickets to his book tour. His book is called It’s Okay to Be Angry About Capitalism. Read this as many times as you need to to understand how stupid this is.’
Travis Akers wrote, “To promote his new book, It’s Okay to Be Angry About Capitalism, Senator Bernie Sanders is selling tickets to his book tour on Ticketmaster, just a week after his severe criticism of the company.”
Mike David wrote: “Bernie Sanders is charging $95 per attendee for his book tour talks on why capitalism is bad. Yes. For real.’
Sanders has not publicly responded to the criticism.
On March 1, Sanders will discuss with his fans the “progressive dismantling of the hyper-capitalist status quo that has enriched millionaires and billionaires at the expense of the working class, and a blueprint for what transformative change would actually look like.” said the organizer.
Tickets will be available to the general public on February 3rd.
