What do you think of the idea of traveling the world while living on a cruise ship? It may seem surreal, but this life of luxury really is within reach of the lucky ones and I’ve come to give you the price and details of this bohemian home.
Storylines, the company responsible for the highseas condominiums, offers complete homes from one to four bedrooms for anyone who wants (and can $) live on a cruise ship. There are a total of 547 furnished residential units from studios to twostory penthouses.

To get the picture, the MV Narrative ship is scheduled to embark on a threeyear voyage across six continents, with the ship spending an average of three to five days at each destination. That means residents can hop on and off at any port stop.
“The best part is that each week we offer the lucky residents a new destination, where they can wake up in the comfort of their own bed and enjoy another fantastic view,” said one of the founders of the maritime guest house, Alister Punton.

What will be on the residential cruise ship?
For those curious to see if everything works like it does on the cruises we know, I expect it will get even better. For starters, the site will have 20 restaurants and bars, a microbrewery, three swimming pools with solariums, a garden, a library, 18 decks, and a pet area.
In addition to the structure already anticipated for this type of ship, the MV Narrative will offer all the amenities of a terrestrial community, including a school, cinema, jogging and dance floor, offices, bank, post office, doctor’s office, gym, theater, golf and even a marina for private vessels. Yes! It’s for people to play “normal life” while living at sea!

The ship is expected to be built in 2023 and launched in 2025, with a monstrous size to accommodate more than 1,000 travellers/residents.
“The route takes three years to circumnavigate the globe, with an average of three days in port and three months in each geographic region. Those who sail aboard our continuous sailing ship will have access to luxury travel as a way of life,” explained Punton.
How much does it cost to live on a cruise ship?
As we can already imagine, the availability of this luxury life comes at a high cost. The marine residences cost between US$875,000 (R$4.5M) and US$8 million (R$43M).
Living on the ship still requires paying a fee to cover costs for food, entertainment and upkeep, which start at just over US$5,400 (R$28,000) a month for a couple.
There is also the option to purchase a multiownership model where up to four people can share the unit. But believe me, that doesn’t make the investment cheap as the initial value of the stake is US$589,000 (R$3 million) for the life of the vessel, in addition to US$26.7,000 (R$140). thousand) for quarterly installments.
house on the high seas
It is worth remembering that a ship does not last a lifetime. Therefore, some residents have the right to occupy the residence for 24 years, while others have the same rights throughout the life of the ship.
According to those responsible, over the years part of the money invested by the owners is reserved for the construction of a new ship when the current ship is replaced at the end of its useful life.

Some owners have to live on the ship fulltime, while others have to use the house on vacation. There is also the option of renting out the residence yourself or lending it to friends if the owners are not on site. If a resident doesn’t adapt to the lives of millions at sea, it’s possible to resell the home.

I confess that I was very impressed with all the luxury of living on a ship! While I love the idea of traveling at home, I don’t know if life on the high seas would be “my thing” haha. Anyway, I’ll never know because I don’t have the resources haha! And you, what do you think of the maritime residential complex? Tell me in the comments!
