Juno Price: Avril Lavigne unwavering in front of… a topless protester

A topless protester briefly took the stage at the Juno Awards Monday night in Edmonton.

The scene happened as singer Avril Lavigne addressed the crowd and spoke about the significance of the ceremony and the first time she received a Juno some 20 years ago.

The singer continued her speech for a few seconds before losing patience. “Get out! Fuck you bitch,” she said as two security guards arrived to take the woman away.

Dressed only in pink pants and a scarf in her hair, the protester wore messages written in black ink on her skin. One of them specifically called for “saving the green belt,” probably referring to requests from developers looking to build in protected areas around Toronto.
