There’s a bit of déjà vu with the New Jersey Devils, who bucked the Carolina Hurricanes in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
The team of head coach Lindy Ruff won the duel on Sunday with 8:4. They are now 2-1 down in their series after being outplayed in the first two games. It’s almost the same scenario as in the first round of the playoffs, where the New York Rangers had two easy wins early in the game against the Devils.

“We’re back, it’s 2-1 now and we have a very good chance of ending the series in two days,” said Devils forward Jack Hughes, whose comments were reported by the National League website.
“The rebound with eight goals is a message,” said Nico Hischier. We still need to improve a few things but we will win and it’s 2-1.”
Hughes was particularly dominant in the win for his team, amassing two goals and as many assists for four points.
“Our best players really gave us what we needed,” Ruff analyzed simply after the game.
never seen
Under the hurricanes, it was hard to understand what had just happened.
“We weren’t good,” said head coach Rod Brind’Amour. I don’t know what else to tell you. I’ve never seen us play like this before. But I trust the other team. They were first to the puck. They were ready and committed.”
“We seemed surprised,” said striker Jordan Staal. It shouldn’t have been. Everyone seemed a bit late. We looked casual with the puck, slow on our skates, and slow on the precheck. We have to give them credit, they worked hard and won all the battles for the puck, especially early in the game.
In that game, which was not going well for the Canes, goaltender Frederik Andersen scored his rival’s first four goals with 12 shots. He was replaced by Pyotr Kochetkov with over 19 minutes remaining in the second half.
The Hurricanes have yet to determine who will be in goal for Game 4 of the series on Tuesday. The game will be broadcast on TVA Sports at 7pm.
