Doorbell footage showed the moment an alleged Dollar General employee drove her car into a man who was said to be fleeing after stealing from her store.
The incident, which took place around 11:20 a.m. on May 11, shows the man on a bicycle riding across a sidewalk in Fresno, California, when out of nowhere a woman at the wheel of a white Honda, which owners say is said to be a Dollar General employee was Camera shot at him, throwing him off his bike.
The impact deformed the bike’s front wheel and he fell, scattering the goods in the bike basket into the driveway of a person equipped with a ring doorbell – who recorded both video and audio of the entire episode.
As the two swear at each other, they both collect the spilled items – the woman takes the severed basket of the bike and puts it in the car along with other items, while the man holds as many items as possible in his arms.

wrote to Dollar General asking for confirmation that the woman was in fact an employee of Dollar General in Fresno, but did not immediately receive a response.
Fresno City Police Department could not confirm details of the incident, but said there was a “call to action” between dispatchers and officers regarding the incident.
Eric, who owns the Ring doorbell camera that captured the video, said he hadn’t heard from the police.
“I was actually completely shocked when it happened. “I saw it live on my Ring cam while I was at work and couldn’t believe I was watching it play out in my driveway. The more I watched the video, the funnier it got,” he said.
After the man falls off his bike, the woman gets out and aggressively confronts him. The pair can be heard exchanging remarks while ironically picking up the fallen objects with relative calm.
As soon as the man stands up, he says to her: “F**king b***h.”
“Who do you think you’re stealing things from my store, bitch,” the woman replies.
The two continue to insult each other, then the woman picks up the damaged bike and throws it towards the street.
“You don’t live the life I live, bitch,” he tells her.
The two continue to engage in verbal altercations, although much of the dialogue is difficult to understand.
However, the alleged thief is heard telling her that the situation is “not that serious” and that other people in shops are also stealing.
When the woman gets back into her car and has about half of the goods secured, the conflict escalates somewhat when the man begins to threaten her with legal action.
“You’re going to jail for that, bitch, be sure of it,” he says. “And I’m filing a complaint, bitch.”
“I need this money,” he adds.
The front wheel of the bicycle was damaged by the impact, so the man had to collect and hold in his hands as many objects as possible
Cameras captured the incident from multiple angles. In this still, the alleged thief can be seen driving down the sidewalk while the woman drives her car directly to his right. Seconds later, she crossed his path and took him to the ground
“At the moment I don’t know if the police ever intervened. “Nobody has reached out to me and I’m not sure what happened to the Dollar General employee, who I feel sorry for, too,” said Eric, the homeowner.
“I’m both sorry. It seems that the thief stole groceries and also happened to snatch a bouquet of flowers for the upcoming Mother’s Day.
“For someone who steals groceries, times must be pretty tough, so I feel for him too.
“California, there is a lot of roll-out shopping cart theft, and nothing is done about these thieves.” This employee was fed up and decided to take matters into her own hands.
“It’s unfortunate that California laws don’t punish criminals, that’s why it’s so prevalent here in California.”
The clip divided viewers – some supported the manager in her determination to recover the stolen goods, but others criticized the violent way in which she used her car to bring down the man.
“Assault with a deadly weapon.” “In the movie,” one user wrote, disapproving of the woman’s actions.
“It’s not up to the employee.” In fact, the law is more in the offender’s favor than in her favour. “Shops don’t want to be held responsible for injured employees or property damage caused by their employees running over a shoplifter,” said another.
Some were clearly for the stubborn woman.
“Exactly the employee of the year,” said one.
“If I were rich I would send loads of money to people like you,” said another.
