Vladimir Guerrero Jr. helped the Toronto Blue Jays to a three-game losing streak on Tuesday night. In the eighth inning, he hit his 13th home run of the season and led the team to a 4-3 win over the Chicago White Sox at Guaranteed Rate Field.
The Torontonians have triumphed over the White Sox four times on as many occasions this season. Additionally, the Jays’ defense only allowed the Chicago batsmen five runs in those four encounters.

Chris Bassitt gave the Jays another good start Tuesday night by allowing just three runs in six full innings. In addition, he had five strikeouts during the game.
After receiving confirmation Sunday that he would be attending the All-Star Game, Whit Merrifield was clearly motivated ahead of the meetup. The second baseman hit his 17th double of the season, allowing two of his peers to score. In the seventh inning, Merrifield put the ball in play for the second time. In the same inning, he stole his 19th base of the season.
The crowd favorite didn’t give up and fought back in the sixth inning with a three-point slap from Luis Robert Jr.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. later silenced White Sox fans with his two-point slap that gave his team the lead.
The Queen City officials have a 46-40 record, two games behind the New York Yankees and third in the American League East.
