BY Alejandro Feregrino-. Despite celebrating the huge success that many of her Hollywood peers have achieved, Consuelo Duval admitted that it was never her dream to become an actress.
“Do you notice that when they said to me, ‘You don’t want to go to Hollywood like Eugenio?’ Like Salma?’ and I said, ‘No. Will this make me mediocre? At least that’s what I thought, but no, my dream is to work at Disney, he assured in an interview with Milenio Espectáculos.
Duval is without doubt one of the most important actresses and comedians in Mexico. Although she has appeared in series and soap operas, she is best known for her comedic roles, including the lovable “Federica” from “La Familia P. Luche”.
He has also voiced for animated films such as Disney’s ‘Vacas Cowgirls’ and Pixar’s ‘The Incredibles’. In fact, she thought it would fulfill her dream of working at Disney, but life had a surprise in store for her.
“I thought I had already made it when I did my dubbing. But when they called me about it, they said, “How, me?” And the truth isn’t a story, but the 20 haven’t fallen yet.
When she says “that,” Consuelo is referring to her new project titled “CHUECO,” the first Latin American-produced sitcom — situation comedy with recorded laughs and self-contained chapters — from Disney+ Original Productions.
Starring Duval and Argentinians Darío Barassi and Agustín “Soy Rada” Aristarán, the series tells the story of Juan Gustozzi, a teacher and father of a family whose uncle inherits a vast fortune with the only condition being to take care of his pet. , a monkey named “Chueco” as if he were part of the family.
He will have the invaluable help of Amanda, the housekeeper, Duval’s character, who assures that working on a comedy with white humor came as a big surprise to the whole family at this point in his career.
In an interview with Reforma, Duval admitted that traveling to Argentina, where all the production took place, was the hardest part of taking on the challenge.

“It really moved me to what I had thought a long time ago: ‘What you have to offer is going to another country where they speak very differently, where they have influences from other countries, and mine Leaving my dogs and my children behind.’ , it was something I have seen far.
“When that day came, I didn’t expect the story I would experience in the three, four months that I was recording the series. The truth is that they took me in, took me in and spoiled me. I am very grateful to Argentina and the Argentines who have done so much good for me when I suddenly felt very vulnerable because I wanted my house, my dogs, the smell of tortillas and all that ended when I entered this set and Crooked saw and the Gustozzi family. He was like, ‘Everything is worth being here!’”
For Duval, portraying “Chueco” with a classic doll in the style of “Alf” or the “Muppets” was one of the greatest successes in history.
“There are things that the new generations should not miss. There are things we have lost over the years that technology has given us, but when feelings and love are involved we cannot forget them.”
Working on a classic series that brought the whole family together in front of the television was very rewarding for Duval, who found a new boost in his career in this production.
“Coming here to do ‘CHUECO’ filled me with life. This is a respite, a return to basics. “I have many dreams,” she said excitedly to Milenio.
