Nicole Kidman defends THIS viral Vanity Fair cover shoot after raising eyebrows for modeling a Miu Miu microskirt
Nicole Kidman caused a stir online when she wore a Miu Miu microskirt, designed to resemble a snazzy school uniform, on the cover of Vanity Fair’s February 2022 issue.
But the 54-year-old actress has revealed that she never lets critics stop her from taking creative risks in her career.
Talking to Stellar Magazine on Sunday: The Moulin Rouge! Star said she makes a concerted effort not to hold back when it comes to expressing herself.
“I make the most random and craziest decisions.” I call them ‘teenage choices’ because I just never think about the consequences,” the Hollywood star explained.
“Part of my brain just doesn’t think that way.” I’m just like, ‘Oh, I’m going to wear that; it reminds me of my school uniform.’ Or “Oh my god, yes, I’d love to do that.”

Nicole also noted that she “doesn’t really want to know” what “hurting” things people might say about her, as it will only discourage her from tackling creative projects in the future.
The Oscar winner previously admitted it was her decision to wear the skimpy microskirt, echoing that in her Stellar interview.
“It was my choice.” And yes, it’s mine. I am responsible. What ever. I take responsibility. Nobody else chose it [the Miu Miu skirt]’, She said.

Miu Miu’s skimpiest micro mini skirt costs around US$950 (AU$1,300), while a longer version can cost around US$1,150 (AU$1,500).
It has also been featured in Dazed Korea, Elle Korea, Interview Magazine, Vogue Czechoslovkia, and iD Mag, among others.
The skirt has also been spotted out and about by celebrities, including Emma Corrin and Saweetie, and was modeled by Zendaya and Hayley Bieber.
It’s also become a social media sensation, with drag superstar Bimini Bon Boulash making a splash in the rock on her Instagram story. The set has gone so viral it even has its own Instagram page – @miumiuset.

Barely there: Designed by billionaire Miu Miu boss Miuccia Prada, the skirt was recently described by Vogue as a “cheeky schoolgirl design that’s less reminiscent of a skirt and more like a belt.” A model walks the runway during the Miu Miu Spring/Summer 2022 show in Paris
