NFL star Caleb Farley’s father is dead after a player’s $2 million mansion in Mooresville, North Carolina EXPLODES in the middle of the night… as the Titans cornerback rushes to the scene after neighbors reportedly spilled gas have smelled

Caleb Farley’s father Robert died in the explosion that brought down his $2 million North Carolina home.

Farley, 24, was filmed at the scene Tuesday morning and has reportedly been speaking to authorities but was not inside the house when it blew up.

The blast reportedly happened just before midnight Monday night, leaving one other person in their wake, but no life-threatening injuries are believed.

Robert Farley, 61, was found as crew searched the rubble of the building. His tragic death comes nearly six years after his mother Robin died of breast cancer in January 2018.

Neighbors were quoted by QCN as saying they smelled gas at the time of the blast, just before midnight.

“The 6,591-square-foot home is a total loss,” Iredell County Emergency Management said in a press release, quoted by USA Today.

Authorities have not yet given an official cause for the blast as an investigation is ongoing.

Crime scene pictures show the Mooresville property reduced to rubble.

The home listed for $2 million in 2022 and was built in 2016. It had four bedrooms and four bathrooms.

Farley, a native of Maiden, North Carolina, is a Titans cornerback drafted in 2021 after playing for Virginia Tech in college.

This isn’t Farley’s first encounter with tragedy, and he credits his late mother, Robin, with instilling faith in God in him.

He told the Titans website, “She filled my heart with the love of God and that’s why I’m where I am today.”

The Titans last played the Minnesota Vikings over the weekend, but Farley wasn’t part of the team that was supposed to be there.

He is recovering from surgery last December that resulted in a herniated disc in his back.

Titans running back Derrick Henry said of Farley Tuesday morning, “I’m praying for Caleb.” He was one of the last people in the dressing room last night just hanging around.

“I don’t want to talk too much about it, I don’t know all the details.” I pray for him, pray for his family. We all offer our condolences. A tragic situation.’

Another teammate, Kevin Byard, said, “I texted him this morning to say I’m thinking of him.” Caleb is a big believer, he has a lot of faith and I told him to be like that into his faith as much as possible.

“I know he also lost his mother when he was young, he faced a lot of adversity.” It’s very tragic.

“As a team, as a brother, I can only be there for him.” It’s going to be tough. It is an unimaginable tragedy.

“Last year I lost my mother in camp and the only advice I have for anyone going through something like this is to face up to their faith.”

“I felt like I was in a very dark place for a while. Know that as hard as it sounds and as hard as it can be, God makes no mistakes. You have to lean into it, otherwise you can fall into a really dark place.’

Mike Vrabel, the Titans coach, said, “What’s important is that we do what we can to support Caleb and his family.” “We will do what we can.”
