He shoots in a bar, hides at home and tries to escape disguised as a woman wearing a Manila scarf

The outfit did not confuse the agents and the night of rage of a man from Alcalá de Henares ended despite the Manila scarf. This is the end, but to get to the beginning of this story you have to go to a bar in this Madrid city. It’s Friday morning, about half past two. Two men and a woman approach a bar in Plaza de La Garena as it is about to close, and the owner warns them that the most he can do is serve them a drink in a plastic cup. The trio isn’t convinced by the offer and starts causing problems, one of them even destroying some furniture. “He breaks a glass table and throws it on the floor,” the police report states. One of them, the most angry, leaves, not because he surrendered, but because ten minutes later he returns with a gun with which he slightly wounds two people, one of them the woman who accompanied him. This was just the beginning. After the shots were fired, the man disappeared.

At this point the police become active. Those affected tell the officers what happened and the patrol sets off to inspect the site. Several indicators arrive and begin raids in the area. They track down the two companions of the suspected attacker with the weapon. She claims to have met him the same day and to know nothing about him. Hours pass and dawn breaks. They reach the alleged attacker’s vehicle and see through the passenger window a simulated pistol and two cartridges that may match the description given by witnesses to the attack in the bar. At this point, and thanks to Friday morning’s investigation, they already have a possible identity and an address corresponding to that name. The search for the angry man’s trail continues. Agents have confirmed that this is a dangerous individual with a long criminal history.

At around one o’clock in the afternoon, a pin is marked on the map with the location where the attacker is definitely located. The officers decided to monitor the suspect’s house from now on. By this time the GEO, the elite police force, had joined. He was a man who had shot in a bar and had fifty records for injuries, robberies and threats. Nobody knew what he would be capable of. But there was no film attack, no violent shooting, nor did he barricade himself in the house. After two and a half hours, around half past three, a figure emerges from the portal in a rather bizarre way. Manila scarf, beige boots, a black wig, sunglasses and two strange bumps on his chest. The agents hesitate, it’s hard to believe that this was the shadow they had been chasing for several hours.

They decide to stop him. And they are right. The man, a 55-year-old Spaniard, had decided to disguise himself as a woman to avoid the justice system, but didn’t know exactly how to look like a woman. And he had left no detail to chance, the bumps on his chest were two rolled up socks. When he spots the police, he tries to turn around and go back into the portal, but it’s too late.

The story didn’t end with the arrest. After he was handcuffed, police searched the house and discovered two kilos of marijuana. Hours later, a woman who went to feed the cats at a cat colony in the community warned that she had discovered a bag containing a sawed-off shotgun and cartridges in Los Nogales Park. The scientific police are now analyzing this weapon and the one in the car to determine which of the two was used in the bar attack. The judge sent the inmate to prison on charges of attempted murder and a crime against public health because of the drugs found in his home. End of suspect’s 24-hour manila scarf rage.
