Alicia Keys is filing a trademark for Alicia Teas … three years after husband Swizz Beatz surprised her with a personalized tea gift line of the same name for her birthday

Alicia Keys filed paperwork to trademark the Alicia Teas name.

According to TMZ, 15-time Grammy Award-winning artist AK Worldwide has registered the rights to the name.

The 42-year-old singer apparently got the idea for her own tea collection after her husband Swizz Beatz, 45, gave her a personalized tea collection for her birthday in 2020.

In a now-deleted post on her Instagram in late January 2020, Alicia was gifted personalized tea bags, which he called “Alicia Teas.”

She told him at the time: “That means you did this a long time in advance,” according to Revolt TV.

Swizz told her at the time: “Everyone in Starbucks around the world will see Alicia Teas.” Happy birthday, sweetheart. Love you.’

The lovebirds first met in the 1990s when she was 14 and he was 16 – they met through mutual friends but didn’t get along.

As they both found success in the music industry, the stars always attended the same events, but Alicia wasn’t interested, according to People.

“We ended up in the same circles at various award shows and industry events. He usually drove up in a fancy car, rolled around with his crew from the Bronx and glittered with diamonds. “I wanted nothing to do with that scene or with Swizz,” she said in her memoir “More Myself.”

The duo worked on a music project together in 2008 – which led to Alicia getting to know Swizz as a person.

“The more we talked, the more I noticed how his mind worked. Beyond the baggy jeans and arm tattoos, there was depth. “He was so aware of what was happening in the world,” she wrote.

The couple began dating in the fall of 2008. Two years later, in May 2010, they announced their engagement and that they were expecting their first child together.

They married on July 31, 2010 and had their first child together on October 14, 2010: Eqypt Daoud Dean, now 12 years old.

Their second son, Genesis Ali Dean, born on December 27, 2014, is now eight years old.

Swizz, born Kasseem Daoud Dean, has three children from previous relationships: son Prince Nasir, 22, with ex-partner Nicole Levy; son Kasseem Dean Jr., 16, with his ex-wife Mashonda Tifrere; and daughter Nicole, 15, with singer Jahna Sebastian.

Alicia is also the founder of skin and makeup brand Keys Soulcare; She founded the brand together with dermatologist Dr. Renee Snyder.

The brand is vegan, cruelty-free and fair trade certified.

Keys Soulcare also offers candles.

Alicia began her professional music career at the age of 15 – when she was signed by Columbia Records.

The New York native discovered her passion for the piano at the age of six and began classical piano training the following year.

When she was 10, a neighbor who was moving gave her his old piano so she could practice for hours.

Having been signed to Columbia Records at the age of 15 before leaving her recording contract with Arista Records in 1998 because she didn’t want to be pigeonholed as to who she should be as an artist.

Clive Davis – who was with Arista Records – founded his own record label called J Records and signed them there.

She performed her debut single “Fallin” on Oprah and it became a hit, reaching No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Her debut album, Songs in A Minor, was released in 2001 and received widespread acclaim from critics and audiences.

Alicia’s follow-up album, The Diary of Alicia Keys, also proved to be a hit; it was released in 2003.

Her third album “As I Am” was released in 2007, her fourth “Element of Freedom” in 2009.

Alicia’s fifth album Girl on Fire was released in 2012 and her last album Here was released in 2016.
