The truth about the new corona vaccination in Austria

The corona vaccine adapted to the new variants “Eris” and “Pirola” has been administered for a few days. If you want to get Jaukerl:

The newly adapted Covid-19 vaccine, Comirnaty Omicron XBB.1.5 for people aged 12 and over, was also vaccinated in Austria a few days ago. But to what extent is the population willing to receive a booster vaccination in the fourth Corona winter?

49 percent want to forgo vaccination

This is what “Unique Research” asked the “Today” population (500 respondents, maximum fluctuation range ±4.4%). Result: just over a quarter (27 percent) said they would like to be vaccinated against Corona in the autumn. 20 percent are still thinking about it, almost half want nothing to do with the Covid-19 nonsense anymore.

Hajek: “High value”

“These are high values compared to classic flu vaccination”, says researcher Peter Hajek, summarizing the results of his study. He explains to “Today”: “A strong quarter of the population would like to receive a corona vaccination (booster) in the autumn. One in five people are still thinking about it.” The over-60 generation, in particular, is particularly interested in getting vaccinated.

Black people are behind Jaukerl

ÖVP voters are still more willing to be vaccinated (41 percent) – as is known, the Chancellor’s party has promoted vaccination as the “way out of the pandemic” from the beginning. Among supporters of the coalition partner, rejection is lower, at 28 percent, but many environmentally friendly groups are still thinking about it.

Most FPölers reject vaccination

Not surprisingly, liberal voters are also the most critical of booster vaccinations. A staggering 73 percent reject the needle, only 15 percent of blue voters openly say: Yes, I’ll get vaccinated this year too.

46 percent of the generation over 60 wants vaccination

What stands out most: more men (31%) are looking for another bite than women (24%). The generation aged 60 and over is more willing to be vaccinated, but here too there is hardly a majority who can prepare for vaccination. Respondents with a high school diploma are more open to Jaukerl than those without a high school diploma.

“Corona in sight”

So can we expect a significant rush of doctors? “Realistically, not everyone interested in vaccination will take it,” estimates researcher Hajek. Postscript: “It is therefore advisable to use a conservative estimate and not have too high expectations, but people are keeping an eye on Corona.”
