COMMUNITY. As it begins its 30th anniversary, Souper du Partage achieved the feat of reaching nearly $2 million in donations and sponsorships thanks to its annual spaghetti dinner.
Since 1995, thanks to the generosity of the community, 7,500 Christmas baskets filled with food have been distributed.
The organization plans to increase assistance to at-risk families at the end of its next fundraiser, which will take place on November 4th at La Ruche Secondary School.
In addition to enjoying a plate of spaghetti with the sauce that made it famous, guests can see and hear the band Silk & Stone. This musical group recently presented performances at the Reconnaissance Estrie Gala and Centerxpo Cogeco in Drummondville. These six musicians will deliver Top 40 hits from the 1970s to today, from The Beatles to Taylor Swift.
The 29th edition of Souper du Partage, presented by Provigo Michel Frigon, aims to design and distribute around 400 Christmas baskets on December 17th. Last year, 869 people benefited from this food aid, including 192 children.
Companies, businesses and individuals can contribute in different ways, for example as a major partner, by taking on a family sponsorship or by purchasing admission tickets. The cost of each meal is $16 or $7 for children ages 5 to 11.
Spaghetti sauce is also available through the organization’s online store. The deadline to order is October 29th or while stocks last. The 1.5 liter container costs $15.
