Two 12-year-old children have been charged with the murder of a 19-year-old who was stabbed to death in Wolverhampton, Britain, on Monday while visiting family in the country.
“The 12-year-olds were arrested on Tuesday evening and charged following another court arrest warrant against them [jeudi] Evening. The boys were also charged with possession of a sharp object,” West Midlands Police reported on Thursday, according to The Guardian.
On Monday, 19-year-old Shawn Seesahai was in a park in Wolverhampton, near Birmingham, when he was allegedly attacked and stabbed by the two children just before 8:30 p.m., the BBC reported.
When the rescue workers arrived on site, the young man was found seriously injured. The emergency services tried everything to save his life, but he was ultimately pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, a spokesman told the British media.
According to a crowdfunding campaign, the victim, from Anguilla, a British archipelago in the eastern Caribbean, was in the park with a friend at the time of the attack. According to his uncle, he visited the United Kingdom with his family.
“He looked forward to realizing many future projects and ambitions. He cared deeply for his family and friends and loved helping people. He was a generous person and had a good personality. We will always carry him in our hearts,” lamented the victim’s mother in a statement shared by police, according to The Guardian.
The two twelve-year-old boys, whose identities are protected by law, are themselves charged with murder and possession of a bladed object.
