Rumor Roundup: CM Punk at Survivor Series, LA Knight vs. Roman Reigns, Rousey and more! – Cage seats

Speculating about the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favorite pastime for many fans, perhaps even more important than watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors from the pro wrestling rumor mill.

Rumors for this day:

• The Wrestling Observer Newsletter notes that there is “no evidence” that CM Punk is returning to WWE tonight at Survivor Series in Chicago, reiterating that “those familiar with the situation have denied it.”
• According to Fightful Select, WWE’s “top talent” has been “directly told” that CM Punk will not be at Survivor Series. That includes talent that is at a level where “lying to them doesn’t make sense and wouldn’t be beneficial to a great locker room.”
• As for the recent references to Punk on WWE television, someone “higher up” in WWE told Fightful that talent didn’t clarify those lines before using them on television. Additionally, Triple H told “some in the company that fans were finding things that weren’t there.”
• The Observer has been told that Roman Reigns vs. LA Knight is not scheduled for Royal Rumble 2024. There are people who “think it should be Knight at this point,” but Triple H has a different idea in mind.
• According to WON, Ronda Rousey is currently not involved in wrestling on a regular basis. Her ROH debut was “basically a favor to solve a complex political problem and help her friend Marina Shafir.”
• F4WOnline’s Dave Meltzer says the Young Bucks are being repackaged “as heels” after a hiatus to “big impact.” Colt Cabana “has been mentioned as part of her heel group,” but “that doesn’t appear to be a certainty.”
• Meltzer also claims that the Young Bucks’ YouTube series Being The Elite is “not on hiatus, in fact it’s finished. At this point there are no plans to bring it back.”
• The Ryback said he once had a bizarre interaction with Brock Lesnar in WWE catering that was like “two gorillas running into each other.” Brock sat “really close” to Ryback’s side and remained awkwardly silent as they ate their food. Brock noticed the huge amount of meat on Ryback’s plate and recommended that he eat more vegetables. Afterwards, “this strange thing happened between us” involving chewing tobacco; Ryback “enjoyed every second”.
