AC/DC's first drummer dies at age 77

The first drummer of the legendary rock group AC/DC, Colin Burgess, has died at the age of 77.

The group made the announcement in a post on their X (formerly Twitter) account.

“We are very sad to learn of the death of Colin Burgess,” the short message said. He was our first drummer and a very respected musician.”

Mr. Burgess was born in 1946 and joined AC/DC after its formation in November 1973, but was fired just a few months later.

Over the next few years he served as a replacement on drums for the same group a few times.

The musician then played in several rock groups, including His Majesty, Good Time Charlie, The Masters Apprentices and finally The Burgess Brothers Band.

The cause of death was not disclosed.
