A Russian politician close to Vladimir Putin openly threatens Poland with an attack. It does not address the possible NATO alliance.
Moscow – Russia is not making as much progress in the war in Ukraine as the Moscow regime imagines. Example: A Ukrainian online portal compiled a map of Russian losses in the Black Sea and Crimea alone.
Russia: State Duma politician threatens NATO member Poland in TV interview
A Russian State Duma politician has now openly threatened neighboring Ukrainian and German country Poland on state television. And this despite the fact that the Poles are part of the Western defense alliance NATO. It is not the Kremlin's first threatening gesture against Warsaw.
The Poles would realize “that next it will be their turn”, ultranationalist politician Aleksey Shurawlyov said in a television interview, according to Newsweek. The American magazine cites a tweet by the founder of the Russian Media Monitor portal, Julia Davis, on X (formerly Twitter).

Russia's threatening gestures – Russia's attack would trigger the collapse of the NATO alliance
Zhuravlyov, who is an ally of autocrat Vladimir Putin, is said to have said: “Another question for you guys in the West: what are you going to do about it? You understand very well that Ukraine is finished. So what happens next? Sweden is preparing, and so is the Balkans. The Poles calmed down a little, probably starting to realize that it's their next turn. Of course we have no illusions, but we understand that everyone is preparing for the next phase of the war.”
What Shuravlyov apparently didn't mention was that if the Russians actually attacked Poland, the NATO alliance would come into force. The aforementioned case of alliance is regulated in article 5 of the NATO Treaty and refers to article 51 of the Charter of the United Nations (UN), which describes the right to self-defense in the event of an attack. In essence, Article 5 states that all 31 European and North American member states will take joint military countermeasures if one or more members are attacked by a foreign aggressor “in order to restore and maintain the security of the North Atlantic area.”

Vladimir Putin's regime: repeated Russian threats against Poland
Poland has massively armed its armed forces since the Russian attack on Ukraine. There was great excitement on December 29th when a suspected Russian missile crossed the border between Ukraine and Poland. The Foreign Ministry in Warsaw then summoned the chargé d'affaires of the Russian embassy and handed him a note of protest. This calls on Russia to “explain the airspace violation incident and immediately stop such activities,” the ministry said. Now Zhuravlyov has followed up with threatening gestures that are not uncommon in Putin's Moscow circle. (PM)
