Cuban actress Maité Galbán Cueto came to the United States as part of the family reunification program. The news was announced by actress Lily Bergues and the page Cubaactores via a live broadcast on Instagram.
Galbán Cueto arrived in Miami a few days ago as part of the family reunion, but only today he made his arrival public by welcoming Lily. The actress was born in Cuba in the soap opera “Tan Far y tan cerca” in the character of Dr. Danay known. The plot of the drama was in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The soap opera directed by Alberto Luberta Martínez and Loysis Inclán shaped Galbán's professional life. About his character he would confess in an interview with Cubadebate: “I was seduced by his passion and the history full of conflicts with his father. I gave this role a lot of real things that I felt in that moment. “I gave him my heart.”
Bergues clarified during the Instagram Live appearance that although Galbán has recently had an important acting job in Cuba, her entire family was in the United States and that is why the actress decided to tackle this new phase in her life accompanied by her Family.
“I'm here, happy, with my family,” Galbán Cueto said excitedly, thanking the Cuban actors' side for the follow-up.
Before she left Cuba, she also ventured into the cinema with the film “Una noche con los Rolling Stone”, directed by Patricia Ramos, in which she plays the character “Cleo”. Regarding this character, the actress confessed her anticipation for the premiere of the film at the last edition of the Havana Film Festival. For her part, the director noted in several interviews that the chemistry between her and Lola Amores, the film's protagonist, was the trigger for choosing Galbán Cueto for the role of Cleo.
