Summary of the film
Katak, the brave beluga tells the story of a young beluga whale who is still gray even though he should be white at his age. Due to his developmental delay, he has to stay with females, who also protect him excessively.
When his long-suffering grandmother confides in him that she would like to see the lover he never knew one last time, Katak decides to fulfill his wish and travels secretly from the St. Lawrence River to the Arctic to meet his legendary grandfather find.
During a dangerous journey he meets Cyrano, a self-confident sturgeon. Hunted by the river's largest predator, the infamous killer whale Jack-Knife, Katak forms an unlikely friendship with Jack-Lyn, a vegetarian and Jack-Knife's daughter.
Katak, the brave beluga speaks of filial love, trust, independence and the right to be different against the background of the environment. An exciting, tender and funny story, set in seabeds of unimagined wealth.
