The reality of life in Sydney: A couple are shocked when they give a tour of their overpriced small apartment – and learn the bizarre reason why they can't use an important room in the house

Love Island Australia viewers were shocked to learn how a couple from the 2022 season lives.

Claudia Bonifazio and her reality TV co-star-turned-boyfriend Austen Bugeja, who won the show's fourth season, gave a tour of their Sydney apartment in a recent TikTok video.

In the clip, the couple revealed that they pay $650 a week for their loft home, which at first glance appears to offer a “nice” living space.

But the house has several defects that Claudia and Austen pointed out in the TikTok.

“We always wanted a loft apartment,” Austen said. “But I can’t even fit upstairs!”

The 24-year-old then tried to climb the attic stairs before standing in the low attic with his neck crooked.

Claudia, 25, and Austen admitted they originally wanted their double bed upstairs, but as Austen is “too big”, her tiny sleeping space is below the stairs in a corner.

“There’s no way you’ll fit in this bed,” the interviewer said in shock.
