Number of Palestinians killed in Gaza by Israeli strikes rises to 25,900

GAZA, Jan. 25 (Xinhua) — The number of Palestinians killed by ongoing Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip has reached 25,900 since Oct. 7, 2023, the Hamas-run Health Ministry reported on Thursday.

The Israeli army killed 200 Palestinians and injured 370 others in the last 24 hours, the ministry said in a press release.

He also pointed out that the current conflict between Israel and Hamas has injured at least 64,110 Palestinians and said a large number of victims still lie under the rubble as ambulances and civil defense teams have been unable to reach them.

The Israeli army today ordered residents of the southern town of Khan Younis to evacuate their homes ahead of further bombings.

Avichai Adraei, a spokesman for the Israeli army, said on the social network 109-110-111-112 that for their safety they must immediately go to the Al-Mawasi humanitarian zone.”

Local sources said that more than 60,000 residents are at risk of evacuation from Khan Younis and that many of them have already begun evacuating to avoid expected Israeli operations in the area.

According to witnesses, the southern Gaza town of Khan Younis has seen an intensification of Israeli attacks over the past two days, considered the worst since fighting began on October 7, 2023.
