Zac Efron casts John Cena as his fake best friend in a hilarious trailer for Ricky Stanicky, Peter Farrelly's new film about the Farrelly brothers.
Ricky Stanicky is a fictional character consisting of three best friends, played by Zac and comedians Andrew Santino and Jermaine Fowler.
Whenever the three of them need an excuse to go out together or avoid a commitment, they call their fake boyfriend Ricky and say he needs them.
But the house of cards threatens to collapse when the trio go on vacation together under the pretext of Ricky and Andrew misses the birth of his son.
To prevent their loved ones from discovering their secret, they enlist the help of an “X-rated rock 'n' roll impersonator” named “Rock-Hard Rod” to play Ricky.

When Andrew arrives at the hospital with his baby, it turns out that his family has been looking for Ricky Stanicky and found no records of him.
The three men meet at a diner and complain about their situation over coffee, with Andrew emphasizing: “If the truth comes out, my marriage will be over.”
At this point, Zac has a brainwave: find an actor who can play Ricky for her and introduce him to her loved ones to throw them off guard.
They stroll into a seedy nightclub and meet the John Cena character “Rock-Hard Rod”, a dirty tribute act that impersonates various rock stars.
Shortly after they hire Rod, who greets his audience on stage with a coo, “It's great to meet you,” they begin to have concerns.

However, when the time comes for his big reveal, the showman in Rod prevails and plays Ricky Stanicky perfectly.
He thunders into the chest of Andrew's baby, wearing a well-fitting day suit and spreading his arms as he crows, “Mishpocha!” the Yiddish word for “family.”
Ricky Stanicky manages to integrate himself so completely into the action that he ends up appearing as a mohel – the man who carries out the circumcision.
At the same party, he approaches Zac and Andrew's boss Ted (William H. Macy) and immediately brings up his hair plugs, embarrassing him.
Zac and Andrew retreat to the kitchen in horror, certain they will be fired, only to later find out that, on the contrary, “Ricky” has been hired at their company.
“I was really taken with your friend Stanicky,” Ted explains in his spacious office. “He's got it all, this guy!” That's why I hired him.'
