Taylor Swift fans follow her flight from Hawaii to Melbourne

There are currently thousands of planes in the air, but one is crossing Hawaii and has become the most tracked flight in the world. Almost 1,500 people watch his journey across the Pacific.

Flight VJT993 from Honolulu is carrying global pop culture phenomenon Taylor Swift, who is scheduled to land in Melbourne at 12.40pm on Thursday for the Australian leg of her hugely popular Eras Tour.

Swift travels in a Bombardier Global 6000, a luxury private jet with a maximum range of 6,000 nautical miles and capacity for up to 17 passengers.

After landing, Swift will have about two days to deal with her jet lag before taking the stage for her first Australian show since 2018.

It's already been a busy week for the superstar, who left Haneda Airport in Tokyo over the weekend and headed to LAX Airport in Los Angeles.

She spent just a few days in the US and traveled around the globe to watch her boyfriend, Kansas Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, win the NFL Super Bowl and celebrate with him before leaving for her tour Australia continued.

Swift fever has already taken hold Down Under, with thousands of Swifties ready to throng to perform at the Melbourne Cricket Ground from February 16-18 and Sydney's Accor Stadium from February 23-26 .

Over 600,000 tickets have already been sold for their performances.

According to travel agency Flight Center, demand for plane tickets to concerts in Melbourne and Sydney is so high that some fans are even chartering their own flights

“Commercial flights and accommodation are very expensive and we have even seen some travelers opting for a private charter flight to get to the concert,” James Kavanagh, Global Leisure CEO of Flight Center Travel Group, told news.com. ouch.

“While it may seem extreme, we are not surprised when people choose to fly privately through our charter airline AVMIN and we have had bookings for Taylor’s shows in Sydney and Melbourne.”

Lucky fans with tickets are worried about maximizing their Swift experience.

One Melbourne ticket holder even posted on a fan forum that “adult diapers” might be a good idea to ensure they don't miss a song while waiting in line for the toilet.

“A bit of a stupid question, I'm heading to Melbourne N1.” Is anyone considering wearing an adult diaper? I just REALLY don’t want to miss a second of this,” the anonymous post reads.

Tour organizers are also worried about the estimated 15,000 fans who come to the pop star's sold-out shows even though they don't have tickets.

Venues NSW have warned ticketless fanatics to stay away from Accor Stadium to prevent crowd control problems, The Daily Telegraph reported on Sunday.

A spokesman said fans who missed out on tickets shouldn't try to “soak up the atmosphere outside” as they probably wouldn't hear any songs anyway.
