A 38yearold man was killed by a lion after trying to take one “Selfie” with the cat in a zoo in India. The victim, identified as Prahlad Gujjar, allegedly gained entry to a restricted area of ​​the lion enclosure and ignored officers' warnings to leave the area, authorities said.

The case took place last Thursday, 15th, at a zoo in Tirupati city. Officials told police that Gujjar reached the spot around 4 pm and went straight to the lion enclosure.

The visitor then climbed over an almost twometerhigh wall to get into the restricted area. He was reportedly told to leave but ignored it. Witnesses indicate that he also ended up provoking the cat before taking the photo.

Gujjar even tried to escape by climbing a tree but was bitten. The zoo had to be isolated and the lion was put in a cage.

The employees tried to save the visitor, but he died from his injuries. The man's body was removed from the site and taken for an autopsy, said police, who are investigating the case.
