The Oilers still have the Coyotes' number

The Edmonton Oilers picked up their seventh straight win over the Arizona Coyotes on Monday afternoon at Mullett Arena.

Connor McDavid and his gang won 6 to 3. The “Yotes” last win against the team from Alberta was on February 4, 2020.

In today's duel, the Oilers scored four unanswered goals in the third period to win.

Evander Kane (twice), Zach Hyman and Warren Foegele (empty net) were the authors of these successes. At the start of the game, Mattias Janmark and Leon Draisaitl scored on goal. Defenseman Evan Bouchard stood out with three assists.

Nick Bjugstad scored a brace for the Coyotes. It was the ninth time in his career that he made two errors in the same game. The Arizona club's other goalscorer was Clayton Keller.

The Yotes will look to secure their first win in more than four years against the Oilers when the two teams meet in Edmonton on April 12.

800 passes for Kane

At Climate Pledge Arena, Patrick Kane became just the second active player to reach 800 assists in the Detroit Red Wings' 4-3 overtime win over the Kraken.

The American winger is the 33rd player in the National Hockey League (NHL) to achieve this feat. He achieved this in the first period thanks to a pass from Moritz Seider, who fired a powerful shot from the blue line just as he entered the ice.

The Wings never trailed in this encounter, although the Kraken responded each time with their nets. Jared McCann scored two goals for the home team and teammate Jaden Schwartz also beat Alex Lyon, who made 38 saves.

Ben Chiarot ended extra time with his fourth win of the year. Lucas Raymond and Daniel Sprong were the Wings' other goalscorers.

The sharks have disappeared again

At the SAP Center, the San Jose Sharks were humiliated 4-0 by the Vegas Golden Knights.

It was the ninth time in 55 games this season that the Californian club was excluded. This time it was Logan Thompson who signed the shutout. He stopped 30 shots.

The Golden Knights' goal scorers were Michael Amadio, William Karlsson, Keegan Kolesar and Mason Morelli.

The last on this list played his first career game in the NHL. There he scored his first goal, taking advantage of a numerical advantage in the final moments of the first period. The 28-year-old American then provided his first assist in the Bettman circuit, contributing to Kolesar's success.
