Navalny, disappearance “exploited”. Elena Basile screams “soap opera”

The death of Alexei Navalny allows the first answers or at least the first hypotheses to be found. The Russian enemy was reportedly killed with a blow to the heart, a technique once taught to KGB special forces, after being exposed to freezing conditions for several hours. Vladimir Osechkin, founder of the prison and human rights group Gulagu.net, told the Times that the bruises found on the opposition leader's body were consistent with the “single punch” technique. These statements suggest that the dissident did not stop living because of unexpected health problems. However, there are also those who question this version of events. Former Italian diplomat Elena Basile wrote an article for Il Fatto Quotidiano in which she noted that Navalny, for example, was “left free to communicate on social media.”

The former Italian ambassador believes Alexei Navalny's story was exploited to attack Moscow and promote support for Ukraine. In her opinion, Elena Basile has put on paper the failure of “NATO's expansion policy, which led to war with Russia”. A position that would seem decidedly anti-Western to him. Navalny's death? The former diplomat used harsh words: “A soap opera directed by the Western ruling classes, sung by analysts and journalists.” For Basile, the dissident is “an icon of NATO, Putin's opponent, although in reality he does not get 10% of the vote. Punished with a harsh prison in Siberia, he dies under unclear circumstances. A dissident massacred by power.” His disappearance was “being exploited to support the war against Moscow,” he emphasized.
