EXPANSION: At least 17 Palestinians killed in Israeli airstrike on Nuseirat refugee camp in Gaza

GAZA, Feb. 21 (Xinhua) — At least 17 Palestinians were killed and more than 34 injured in an Israeli airstrike on a house in Nuseirat refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip, officials said. Today, local medical sources reported.

The sources added that rescue efforts were still underway and that the victims were women and children.

The recovered victims were taken to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir el-Balah city, the sources added.

Witnesses told Xinhua that an Israeli warplane fired several missiles at the house housing several displaced families.

The powerful explosion leveled the building and caused severe damage to neighboring houses in the western part of the camp.

Separately, the number of Palestinians killed in the Gaza Strip rose to 29,313 and the number of wounded to 69,333 as the conflict between Israel and Hamas continues, the Hamas-run Health Ministry said in a statement today. End
