In its announcement of the news, RTVE highlights the legacy that Ana Blanco leaves behind in the company, “a house with which she will remain forever linked”. It also highlights rigor and professionalism as the anchor's main characteristics in her professional activity during these decades, during which she anchored news programs in almost all time slots and took part in special programs as well as debates and numerous election calls.

On September 15, 1990, Spanish viewers saw Ana Blanco anchoring the newscast for the first time. He previously worked at Los 40 Principales, Radio 16 and Telemadrid. The following season he anchored the afternoon news on La 2.

Since then he has been responsible at various stages for both Telediario 1 and Telediario 2 as well as the weekend edition. His colleagues in this task included Matías Prats (with whom he shared a table between 1992 and 1996), María Escario, Jesús Ílvarez and Sergio Sauca, who were in charge of sports information. In 2007, after 17 years under contract, she received a permanent position at TVE. From the same year until 2009 she was co-host of Informe Semanal, where she was accompanied by journalists such as Pepa Bueno, Lorenzo Milá, María Casado and Ana Pastor. In 2009, he took over the management of the program “I have a question for you,” in which current politicians addressed the concerns of various citizens. In 2018, after another five years as head of the second edition, he hosted the 3 p.m. news program on La 1 alone. In total, he hosted over 7,400 news programs on TVE.

He received numerous awards for his work over these decades: Antena de Oro, Ondas Award, Television Academy Award, TP de Oro, International Press Club Award, Manuel Alonso Visedo Communication Award, National Award of Journalism Pedro Antonio de Alarcón and the Golden Microphone , among other accolades on a long list.
