The 23-year-old center stole the puck from Tomas Nosek and delayed his move to knock goalie Nico Daws off his skates. His second goal of the night was his tenth of the season.

McMichael, selected 25th overall in the 2019 draft, has been slow to establish himself as an impact player in the National League, but streaks like this show that it's a matter of time before he stops performing on a regular basis.

In the Capitals' convincing 6-2 victory, Alexander Ovechkin scored his 15th and 16th goals of the season and added an assist to reach the 40-point plateau. It was the Russian's ninth consecutive game with a point, in which he scored eight goals.
