Air strikes destroy mosque and kill four people in the southern Gaza town of Rafah
Air strikes destroyed a mosque in the southern Gaza Strip city of Rafah, killing four people.
Residents say: It was one of the worst nights of the war so far. The alFarouk Mosque was in the center of the city.
“We are approaching the holy month of Ramadan in two weeks. Where will we pray? “20,000 to 30,000 people used to go to this mosque,” says a Palestinian.
Four houses were hit in southern Rafah and three in the city center. According to the Hamascontrolled Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip, 97 Palestinians have died in the region in the past 24 hours.

Israeli War Cabinet Minister Benny Gantz said this Thursday (22) that the signs of a new agreement with Hamas are promising. A leader of the terror group said there should be progress in negotiations soon.
The United Kingdom and Jordan delivered medicine, food and fuel to a hospital in northern Gaza. For the first time since the start of the war, aid was sent by plane.
Food delivery is one of the biggest problems in the region. In Egypt, near the Rafah border crossing, aid trucks line up: 500 vehicles entered Gaza the day before the war. In January 2024 there was an average of 200. Now it is 57.
