After the sudden drop in the mercury at the beginning of the weekend, a certain mild phase will set in on Sunday in Quebec, except in the northwest of the province, where a sudden cooling is expected at the end of the day.
Environment Canada forecasts the southern part of the province is expected to see rising temperatures from Sunday through at least Wednesday.
Average temperatures between 0°C and 2°C are expected on Sunday in the Montreal, Outaouais, Estrie and Montérégie regions during the day, accompanied by partial sunshine.
At the beginning of the week the temperature continues to rise slowly, reaching up to 16°C in places on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The same mild spell early in the week through Wednesday is expected to be felt across Quebec, but particularly in the south of the province, said Environment Canada meteorologist Marianne Peltier-Champigny.
“This weather system is expected to be followed by a cold front as early as Thursday,” it added.
In the regions of Quebec, Charlevoix, Bas-Saint-Laurent and Gaspésie, Sunday promises to be slightly cooler than in the south of the province, with average temperatures between -1°C and -4°C predicted.
“A strong cold front will cross northwestern Quebec late today and Sunday evening,” Environment Canada said. This warning is particularly applicable to Abitibi and Chibougamau, where “a rapid drop in temperature is expected, while the mercury temperature will drop by about 10 to 12 degrees Celsius in a few hours.” And that in just under three hours, said Ms. Peltier-Champigny.
The meteorologist warned that heavy snow showers could also form, which would significantly reduce visibility.
