As for Sting’s performance as the sharp-headed Harkonnen villain Feid-Rautha in 1984’s Dune, it’s something that’s impossible to keep up with Sting’s performance as Feid-Rautha in 1984’s Dune. It’s just weirdly sexy (okay, Goblin King Bowie in the Labyrinth was able to replicate that, but that’s about it). Personally, I assumed that this character was not in Denis Villeneuve’s Dune because Sting was busy and he was 70 years old. But Fayd-Routa will appear in Dune Villeneuve: Part Two, and Deadline reports that Austin Butler is in talks to play him. It turns out that the next opponent Timothée Chalamet faces will be an Elvis impersonator, which is technically Butler’s job description.

But here’s where things get… spicy. New York Times reporter Kyle Buchanan tweeted a link to the Deadline article and added “they were also looking at Harry Styles and Tye Sheridan for the role…” That ellipsis gets us moving hmm…in a big way. Did Villeneuve see Stiles’ performance in The Eternals and say, “Put that away”? He looked at “Card Counter” and said, “Thanks, enough family revenge from Ty Sheridan”?

Elsewhere, Duneiverse on Tuesday, Deadline reported that Florence Pugh is in talks to play Princess Irulan Corrino, the Emperor’s eldest daughter and possible romantic rival of Zendaya. If Pugh is chosen, they will be contractually required to change the film’s spelling to Dughne: Part Twugh.
