Caracas, May 17 (RHC) – Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro this Monday condemned his Colombian counterpart Iván Duque’s funding of criminal groups to attack military and police centers in his country.
“Attention attention [Vladímir] godfather [ministro de Defensa]Attention military forces, Iván Duque of Colombia has put together a plan and invested several million dollars to hire criminals who will throw grenades and bombs and attack police centers and military centers with bullets,” reported the Venezuelan President at a meeting with his Cabinet of Ministers “as it did the drug traffickers Pablo Escobar Gaviria did against the police […] trying to socially destabilize Venezuela, be vigilant,” he added.
In this sense, the President assured that he had also discussed with his cabinet the restructuring and strengthening of the Peace Quadrants, as the organization of the state security forces is called.
“We also reviewed the issue of the peace quadrants for internal empowerment and the peace quadrants from a communicative, logistical and operational perspective, the peace quadrants in the struggle for peace and civil peace […] to neutralize the plans coming from Colombia to buy criminals in Venezuela to launch bombs or try to assassinate police and military,” he explained.
