Did you know?
National Patriots Day was declared by the Quebec government in November 2002. Thus, the Monday before May 25 of each year henceforth underscores the struggle of the patriots of 1837-1838.
In English Canada, this holiday is called Victoria Day. Since 1953, this day has also been said to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II’s birthday, hence the expression Queen’s Day, a name that is becoming more common.
