The Warner Bros. Saga’ The upcoming Flash movie has been a long one, and for the past few weeks, a lot of it has revolved around its leading man, Ezra Miller. Earlier this month, it was reported that despite Miller’s troubles in recent years — including allegedly strangling a fan and being arrested twice in Hawaii — WB planned to go ahead with The Flash movie starring Miller, even while doing other projects , which the actor was allegedly involved in, have been paused. But as more and more press poured out about the 29-year-old non-binary actor, it seems WB’s plans for the actor have changed following Flash hits.

Throughout the month of June, Miller faced allegations of molesting a non-binary child, to the point where he was granted a restraining order. Separately, Miller was also accused of brainwashing and grooming an 18-year-old from North Dakota named Tokata Iron Eyes and deleting her social media presence in response, but not before he allegedly posted a video in which ridiculed the authorities who wanted to give Miller the protective order filed by Iron Eyes’ parents. Throughout it all, Warner Bros. has remained silent, with Deadline explaining that the studio’s original plan was to wait things out and hope no more allegations or headline-grabbing news would surface. But now their sources say the plan has changed: Despite further allegations, Miller won’t be returning to The Flash as the Flash.

Miller first joined the DC machine in 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and was later attached as one of the key characters in WB’s Fantastic Beasts franchise. They have appeared throughout the run of Beasts and other DCEU franchise films and even had a brief Arrowverse cameo. Currently, it doesn’t seem likely that WB will drop Miller entirely and relaunch The Flash; For one thing, it’s been a long time in development and has already cost a lot of money to see the light of day. It doesn’t sound like WB has any plans for who specifically will take over the gold wings and red suit after The Flash releases: for now, they just want to try and release the thing on June 23, 2023 and from there to continue.
