Pete Nance commits to UNC and completes 2022-23 roster




Early Saturday afternoon, North Carolina added the final slice to its 2022-23 roster with Northwestern transfer Big Man Peter Nance. At 6-foot-11, 218-pounds, Nance is coming off the best season of his career. As a senior for the Wildcats in 2021-22, he averaged 14.6 points, 6.5 rebounds, with 2.7 assists and 1.1 blocks while making 45.2% of his three-point attempts en route to All-Big Ten honors met.

Nance visited UNC on Wednesday and left town on Friday, only to publicize his commitment to the Tar Heels on Saturday. Nance will join a stacked Carolina roster that already includes All-ACC Big Man Armando Bacot in advance along with versatile strikers Puff Johnson and Dontrez styles. North Carolina is also bringing back starter RJ Davis, caleb loveand Tasty black.

Following the commitment, the Inside Carolina coast-to-coast podcast crew, consisting of host Joey Powell and analysts Sherrell McMillan and Sean Moran, came together for an emergency commitment podcast. The trio discussed the path for Nance’s involvement, analysis of his game, his fitting into the UNC roster, the benefit of experience and Carolina’s now set and loaded roster.
