Visit François Blais again
Chantal Guy LaPresse
I always use the summer to have fun, discover or rediscover an author. The tragic death last May of the writer François Blais, whom many consider to be Réjean Ducharme’s worthy heir, made me want to return to his work – particularly his first novel, Iphigénie en Haute-Ville, which I did not read I still have. Because I know in advance that I shall be delighted to re-read Document 1, a little jewel of self-mockery and erudition that only a writer of Blais caliber is capable of.

Everything is Ori, by Paul Serge Forest
Marc Cassivi The press
I was waiting for the summer holidays on the shores of the Gulf of St. Lawrence to delve into Tout est ori, a mysterious story set in a north coast community about a family business specializing in the processing of seafood products, Serge Forest , pseudonym of a Montreal doctor from the North Shore, unanimously won the 2021 Robert Cliche Prize for First Novel for this book “rich and elusive, as destabilizing as it is irresistible” and “full of wit and humor”. ” said my colleague Iris Paradis-Gagnon. Take Me Home by Isabelle Doré
Mario Girard The press
The first rumors came from friends who told me it was “very good”, especially if you’re interested in theatre. Isabelle Doré, who is signing this book, lived in this red and gold world. Isabelle Doré, daughter of actress Charlotte Boisjoli and director Fernand Doré, goddaughter of Françoise Graton, wife of Gilles Pelletier, wanted to speak about her in her own way. To do this, she stayed away from the biographical framework and created paintings from memories and observations. The language is beautiful, steeped in truth and frankness.
