The new challenge ends with a success: Debuting in a 3-round match, the showgirl dominates in front of her husband and daughter
A dream for the first time in the enchanting Royal Palace of Venaria Reale. Elisabetta Canalis stepped into the ring as a rookie at the age of 43, but between the sixteen ropes she looked like a veteran. Gloves and protectors as a wrestler, Angelo Valente in her corner: her mentor and coach for four long years of training that eventually led her straight to the decision to really fight, in a match that was wrapped up in a great night of kickboxing. It started with so much emotion, it ended with a win on points and partying with friends and loved ones especially her husband Brian Perri and their daughter Skyler Eva. And the many in attendance, eager to see the former fabric in all-new clothes, certainly weren’t disappointed.

To greet her in the ring, a friend, Federica Fontana, ring announcer for the occasion. “I’m introducing a great friend, a great woman,” he said as Elizabeth entered the room. The excitement of the debut played out over challenger Rachele Muratori, twenty-one, a second-year language student at the University of Bologna and with aspirations as a fashion influencer in the fashion world. Canalis was more specific on the short haul and more concise on the medium and long haul: she tied correctly, set the times and was able to keep a good pace. He could almost have closed early, at the end of the second of three rounds of 90 seconds each: But then the bell forgave the opponent. The former showgirl influenced the match like a hyena, they emphasized during the award ceremony. “Because I was hungry – he replies with a smile -. When I’m hungry, I’m bloody”. Then she admits: “I’m 100 percent back, it was really fun.” And to see her step out of the ring with that smile, you have to remember that she wants to come back to fight again soon.
