Ohio State wide receiver target Carnell Tate will announce his signing at 1:00 p.m. Monday

We’ll find out if Ohio State landed Carnell Tate in less than 48 hours.

Speculation as to whether Tate is signing to the Buckeyes or Tennessee will finally come to an end at 1 p.m. Monday when Tate announces his much-anticipated college decision.

Tate, an IMG Academy five-star wide receiver, has long been one of Ohio State’s top targets in the recruiting class of 2023. While Tennessee has made a serious attempt to land Tate in recent months, the Buckeyes have stood by always on the forefront of his recruitment and still appear well positioned to receive his signing now that his recruitment is coming to an end.

Tate had originally planned to make his college decision this past fall, at which point Notre Dame was Ohio State’s closest competitor to land the No. 28 overall prospect of the Class of 2023, but Tate chose to back his recruiting into that one to do in summer. This allowed Tennessee and LSU to enter the race for the Chicago native.

When Tate makes his announcement on Monday, however, it’s expected that either Ohio State or Tennessee will be his choices as Brian Hartline looks to add another five-star wide receiver while the Volunteers look to add a top-class pass catcher, who they can pair up with is five-star quarterback Nico Iamaleava.
